RestAssured LLC
Cookie Policy
How we use cookies and similar technologies
Version 2.1 · Effective October 14, 2026
Online at www.restassured.life/legal/cookies
This Cookie Policy explains how RestAssured LLC (“RestAssured,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website (www.restassured.life) and web-based platform (collectively, the “Platform”). It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we collect and use personal information.
Until you make a choice, we use only strictly necessary cookies and storage. Optional cookies are used only if you allow them, and you may change your choice at any time using the cookie preference controls described in Section 7.
We do not sell personal information collected through cookies to third parties, and we do not use cookies to serve behavioral advertising to our users. Our cookie use is limited to what is necessary to operate the Platform, understand how it is used, and improve your experience.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website or use a web-based application. They allow the website to recognize your device across pages or across visits, remember your preferences, and collect information about how you use the service.
In addition to cookies, we use similar technologies built into your browser:
- Local storage — browser-based storage that allows data to persist across sessions without using cookies.
- Session storage — similar to local storage, but data is cleared when the browser tab or window is closed.
References to “cookies” in this policy apply equally to these similar technologies unless otherwise stated.
2. Types of Cookies We Use
We categorize the cookies we use into three types. The table below summarizes each category, its purpose, and whether it is required for the Platform to function.
| Category | Purpose | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary | These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They keep you signed in, protect your account, carry your progress from one page to the next, and remember your cookie choices. The Platform cannot be provided without them. | Yes — cannot be disabled |
| Functional / Preference | These remember small things that make repeat visits smoother, such as animations you have already seen and the page you were reading in your report. Disabling them will not prevent Platform access. | No — optional |
| Analytics / Performance | These collect information about how the Platform is used, such as pages visited, features used, clicks, and page-speed measurements, linked to your account identifier rather than your name or email address. This data helps us improve the Platform over time. Page addresses are recorded without their query strings. | No — optional |
3. Specific Cookies and Technologies We Use
The table below lists the specific cookies and technologies currently deployed on the Platform. This list is updated as our technical stack evolves. Dates reflect the last review of this inventory.
| Cookie / Technology | Provider | Category | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
cookie_consent (cookie) | RestAssured | Strictly Necessary | 12 months | Records your cookie choices so we do not ask on every visit. |
Sign-in session (local storage, sb-…-auth-token) | RestAssured, through our hosting provider Supabase | Strictly Necessary | Until you sign out | Keeps you signed in. |
Sign-up and guest answers (local storage: ra_pending_consent, ra_pending_access_code, restassured_findability_*) | RestAssured | Strictly Necessary | Until they are saved to your account | Hold your acceptance of our terms, an access code, or the Findability answers you gave before creating an account, until your account can save them. |
Progress markers (local storage: restassured_seen_intro_*, ra:snapshot:sections-seen:*) | RestAssured | Strictly Necessary | Until you clear them | Remember that you dismissed the introduction, and which finished sections you have already been shown, so the assessment can tell you what is new. |
Session-only entries (session storage: restassured_remy_*, restassured_findability_claim_token) | RestAssured | Strictly Necessary | Until you close the tab | Carry a question to Remy, or your Findability answers into a new account, from one page to the next. |
Seen and bookmark markers (local storage: restassured:vault-ceremony:*, restassured:assessment-seal:*, restassured:sealed-note:*, restassured:report-book-page:*) | RestAssured | Functional | Until you decline functional cookies or clear them | Remember animations and notes you have already seen, and where you left off in your report. Removed when you decline functional cookies. |
AMP_* and AMP_MKTG_* (cookies), and local storage beginning AMP_ | Amplitude | Analytics | 12 months | Count visits and sessions and measure how the Platform is used. Set only if you allow analytics cookies. |
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address and browser information when a page loads, but sets no cookies on the Platform. Payments happen on a checkout page hosted by Stripe; Stripe’s cookies are set on Stripe’s own site under Stripe’s policies, and Stripe sets no cookies on the Platform.
Note: The specific cookies listed above are subject to change as we update our technology stack and vendor relationships. We will update this table and revise the “Last Updated” date each time the cookie inventory changes materially.
4. Third-Party Cookies and Services
Some cookies on the Platform are set by third-party services we use to operate, analyze, and improve the Platform. These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies that govern how they use the data they collect. RestAssured does not control third-party cookies and is not responsible for how those parties use the data collected through their technologies.
Third-party service providers whose technologies may set cookies or collect data through the Platform include:
- Amplitude, Inc. — usage analytics, only if you allow analytics cookies. Amplitude’s privacy policy is available at amplitude.com/privacy.
- Google LLC (Google Fonts) — font delivery; no cookies. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing on Stripe’s own checkout page. Stripe’s privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
We do not permit third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or social media tracking pixels on the RestAssured Platform. We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking of our users.
5. Mobile Applications
RestAssured does not currently offer mobile applications. If we release them, we will update this policy before they collect any information.
6. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers and devices transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals to websites. Because there is no uniform standard for interpreting DNT signals, RestAssured does not currently alter its data collection practices in response to DNT signals from browsers.
We do, however, honor opt-out choices made through our cookie preference center (described in Section 7), Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as described in Section 7, and the California-specific rights described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have several options for controlling cookies and similar technologies:
-
Cookie Preference Center: When you first visit the Platform, you will be presented with a cookie consent banner that allows you to accept all cookies, accept only strictly necessary cookies, or customize your preferences by category. You can revisit and change your preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Preferences” link in the footer of the Platform, or from Profile › Account & security.
-
Browser Settings: Most web browsers allow you to refuse new cookies, delete existing cookies, and be notified when new cookies are set. Browser controls vary — consult your browser’s help documentation for instructions. Disabling all cookies will prevent you from logging into the Platform and using most of its features.
-
Analytics Opt-Out: Amplitude runs only if you allow analytics cookies. Turning analytics off in the preference center stops it straight away.
-
Global Privacy Control (GPC): If your browser or browser extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal and you have not made a choice yourself, RestAssured treats that signal as a choice of strictly necessary cookies only, and does not show the cookie banner. A choice you make yourself in the preference center takes precedence. GPC does not override strictly necessary cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled through the preference center because the Platform cannot function or remain secure without them. All other cookie categories are optional and can be turned off at any time.
8. Cookie Retention Periods
Cookies are retained for the periods specified in the cookie inventory table in Section 3. In general:
- Session storage is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab or window.
- Persistent cookies and local storage remain on your device until they expire (per their set duration) or until you delete them through your browser settings or cookie preference center.
- Analytics data is kept for up to 24 months, as our Privacy Policy describes.
When you delete your RestAssured account, you are signed out and your session ends. Analytics data held by Amplitude is kept for the period above; data held by Stripe is governed by Stripe’s own retention policies.
9. Cookies and Children
The RestAssured Platform is not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly use cookies or similar technologies to collect information from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has accessed the Platform and is subject to cookie data collection, please contact us at support@restassured.life and we will take prompt corrective action.
10. California Privacy Rights and Cookies
California residents have specific rights regarding the use of cookies and similar technologies under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
RestAssured does not “sell” or “share” personal information collected through cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Accordingly, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” opt-out is not required for our current cookie practices. We will update this policy if our practices change.
California residents may also exercise their rights to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information by contacting us at support@restassured.life. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy at www.restassured.life/legal/privacy.
11. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as we add new features, change our technology vendors, or respond to changes in applicable law. When we make material changes, we will:
- Post the updated Cookie Policy on the Platform with a revised “Last Updated” date.
- Ask you to make your cookie choices again when a new version of this policy is published.
Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Cookie Policy with respect to strictly necessary cookies. For optional cookies, we will re-seek your consent if our practices change materially.
